Coffee Drinkers Less Likely to Have Type-2 Diabetes
Here is good news for those who love caffeine at work. A new study published in the American Chemistry Society’s Journal of Agricultural; Food Chemistry, sheds light on the fact that heavy coffee drinkers tend to have a lower risk of developing type-2 diabetes.
Prior studies have shown that every cup of coffee appears to significantly reduce the risk of type-2 diabetes, but at this point in time, scientists suggest that those who drink four or more cups of coffee per day are 50-percent less likely to develop the disease. More specifically, these studies show that three main active components in caffeine extracts – caffeine, caffeic acid, and chlorogenic acid (CGA) – have a role in inhibiting the accumulation of a substance involved in the disease process.
Of course, at Planet Coffee, we don’t claim to be doctors or scientists; but apparently we do deliver something that reduces the risk of developing type-2 diabetes.
